It’s Amazing…
…how much work I can get done in a day and have none of it be actual writing. Today I’ve worked on advertising initiatives like CRAZY, as well as putting a Hunter Black package available for purchase and download on Comixology (pending acceptance and processing, I imagine it’ll be at least two months before it’s [...]
Something You Should See
<iframe width=”560″ height=”315″ src=”http://www.youtube.com/embed/aTLySbGoMX0″ frameborder=”0″ allowfullscreen></iframe> It’s things like this that give me hope that Disney is EXACTLY THE RIGHT COMPANY to handle stuff like Star Wars. The ability to tell an uplifting and emotionally resonant story without even the benefit of dialogue is something that Disney (and more notably, PIXAR) has demonstrated over and [...]
Musings On Our First Year…and Our Second
Yesterday was the first anniversary of Hunter Black going live. Sure enough, we’ve thus far posted 105 pages…2 pages a week for 52 weeks (plus one). Honestly, our goal for the first year was a modest one, just get it done. Stick to the schedule. Everything else was going to be gravy, We’ve been lucky [...]

Debtor’s Prison – Alan Moore
I feel compelled to write this in part because I sort of took Alan Moore to task a bit over the “Before Watchmen” drama. While my basic feeling remains unchanged, that the main reason that he’s so bothered is about being in control, which isn’t necessarily something people need to get up in arms about, [...]
Hunter Black Page 062 – Verbal Swordplay
Their full names are Lyonitt Ckazannisch and Maliya Pel. Ckazannisch was the name of a D&D character belonging to a good friend of mine, in a 2nd Edition campaign we started in college. Maliya Pel was the name of a character I created for a Star Wars Extended Universe story I had in mind; she was a Jedi Knight. The two characters were similar enough and I liked the name. Ckazannisch here, and he didn’t spell it that way or have a first name…those are my embellishments, is absolutely nothing like his gaming counterpart, but I loved the name.
