We hope we never get so jaded that we’re anything but excited about getting good reviews.
BJ Shea’s Geek Nation included us in a review column alongside much more well known fare like All-New X-Men and Uncanny Avengers, and that certainly doesn’t suck at all. (And many thanks to Evan, one of our biggest and most vocal fans, for suggesting to them that they review us over and over and over again!) We stacked up well in the column, with extra points for the EXTREMELY AFFORDABLE digital editions being sold on Comixology!
Comic Book Resources columnist Brian Cronin featured us on his “Comics Should Be Good” blog and that’s no joke; CBR is one of the biggest comics news sites on the web. I submitted Hunter Black (and Rocket Queen and The Wrench, but no love there just yet) for their February coverage of independent comics by Black creators, because why not? Brian was effusive in his praise and posted SIX pages of the comic in two 3-page blocks showcasing exactly what we do and how we do it. Heck, even I was impressed by Hunter Black after reading the review!
Seriously though, it means a lot to us that people are enjoying the comic. We put a lot of time and effort into it, and hopefully this kind of recognition translates to more readers…and eventually more opportunity to keep doing what we love!
(And it’s my birthday, so these reviews made for a great present!)
