You know, this page makes me want to reread Understanding Comics and Making Comics by Scott McCloud. I haven’t dipped into either book in quite a while, and there’s never anything wrong with a little refresher. The simplicity of Will’s rendering on Hunter’s face is the catalyst, I guess. I really feel what *I* know Hunter is feeling. (You guys have to wait a little longer to find out what that is.)
Well, as far as I’m concerned, the holidays are now completely over. The Christmas tree is down, there are no more presents to buy. Welllll, that’s not completely true. Saturday is #Squirrel’s and my anniversary. Six years married! We’re not exchanging gifts, we never do, but we have a special occasion restaurant that will be getting a visit this weekend.
But that’s not the point. The point is, I’m back onto the full court press looking for more writing work. Reaching out to comic and animation companies, maybe setting up new sales avenues for the Hunter Black trade, and just overall trying to push the business forward is the order of the day. My new bartending gig is perfectly fine, but that’s all it is. It has further cemented that I am done with the restaurant business, and that I need to redouble my writing efforts.
And hey, if anyone wants to blow a little post-Christmas money, or to get #Squirrel a nice anniversary gift, consider checking out our store or becoming a Patron. These things help immensely, believe it or not.
